Slam Dunk in AR!
NBA All Stars AR is a promotional AR app created for the NBA All Stars 2018 event at the Staples Center, California. The app featured a world tracking based AR Basketball mini game in which users could perform slam dunks and share their captured session video on social media.
I worked as a UX designer and developer for this app and designed the AR functionality plus the gameplay. The gameplay was a simple mechanic of performing certain swipes in a timed manner to execute one of few canned slam dunk animations for the character of your choice. Users could capture their experience from different angles and record a video of it right from the app. The app thereafter gives an option to share the recorded video to their own social media.
